Tour Summary – Starting in Nairobi there are so many highlights of this tour.  Which will be your favourite?  The magnificent Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area with its abundance of wildlife in the volcanic crater and with its wonderful views?  The Masai Mara or the Serengeti on the Tanzanian side of the border?  Or Nakuru's flamigoes?  Or magical Zanzibar!   After this grand tour you will be an expert on the region!

Itinerary

 

Day 1

On your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, our representative will receive you and transfer to Hilton Hotel where you will spend the night on bed and breakfast basis. Hilton Hotel is located within the City Center, 20 kilometers from the airport . (B)  

Day 2

After breakfast at the Hotel, you will drive for close to two hours to Aberdares National Park. You will have lunch at Aberdare Country Club. After lunch, you'll take the special shuttle bus into the Aberdare National Park for your night at the famous Ark Lodge. Majority of your baggage will be left at Aberdare Club therefore ensure your toiletries and photography gear are packed in the bag that you will take with you. Make sure you bring a sweater at nearly 8,000 feet; it gets chilly in the evening . (BLD)  

Day 3

After breakfast, you’ll be collected by your driver/guide and to drive to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru National Park. Arriving in time to check-in at the Lion Hill Lodge, a delightful lodge with beautiful views and friendly staff. You will enjoy stunning views from this lodge over this alkaline lake with its famous flamingos. Enjoy lunch and an afternoon drive in the Park .  Nakuru is most famous for its concentrations of both Greater and Lesser Flamingo who feed upon the blue green algae with which the lake abounds. Up to one million flamingos turning the entire lakeshore to pink. Large numbers of Pelicans can also be seen on the southern and eastern shores. There are over 400 varieties of birds to spot. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge (BLD)

Day 4

After breakfast, you will drive to the magnificent Masai Mara where you will have lunch at Mara Sarova Tented Camp. Seated right inside the Reserve in an indigenous forested area with streams sprouting right here; the Camp grounds provide a peaceful retreat zone. The tents are en suite with hot water and most of the trappings of good living! (BLD) 

Day 5

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy a game drive before returning for breakfast and a relaxing morning at the Camp. Enjoy lunch followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset when you return to the Camp for dinner. BLD

Day 6

A full day of exploration in the Masai Mara. BLD

Day 7

Early morning breakfast. You drive to Nairobi, where you will have lunch at Carnivore. Afternoon drive to Amboseli National Park, game viewing on the way as you drive to Amboseli Serena Lodge. BLD

Day 8

All day is spent in Amboseli. You will enjoy a morning and an afternoon game drive.  BLD

Day 9 

After breakfast, drive to Namanga boarder town where the Tanzanian crew will receive you. Drive to Lake Manyara National Park arriving for lunch at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. The Lodge is perched on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment with one of the greatest views over the Great Rift Valley and its soda lake. BLD

Day 10

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. You have a stopover at Olduvai Gorge - the cradle of mankind where the Leakeys unearthed the secrets of man's early evolutionary heritage Serengeti. You will have lunch at Serengeti Sopa Lodge followed by an afternoon game drive.

Serengeti comes from the Masai word 'Siringit' meaning 'the place where the land runs on forever'. The Park is estimated to contain over three million animals. The vast Serengeti Plains are the highlight of a Tanzanian wildlife experience. Here you will see massive herds of zebra, wildebeest and gazelle, large numbers of giraffe, buffalo and warthog, the big cats - lion, cheetah and leopard. The park is particularly known for the annual migration of the herds to Masai Mara .  BLD

Day 11

A full day in Serengeti National Park viewing wildlife in morning and afternoon drives.  BLD

Day 12

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for lunch. You will have an afternoon game viewing around the rim of the Crater before returning to the Lodge for dinner.

The immense volcanic Ngorongoro Crater is about 18 kilometers in diameter and it is a famous reserve with prolific wildlife. The walls of the crater are covered with dense forest and the crater floor has a permanent lake. There is a profusion of wildlife here including lions, elephants, buffalo, black rhino, hippos, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and leopard. The views from the rim are breathtaking, and the crater is full of animals throughout the year. The Crater is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers 8,280 square km. You will have an afternoon game viewing session around the rim of the Crater before returning for dinner at the Lodge.  BLD

Day 13

Have breakfast at the lodge and then head down into the Crater for a full day game viewing. Enjoy a picnic lunch watching the abundant game before returning to the Crater rim and the Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight. BLD

Day 14

You will have your breakfast then drive to Kilimanjaro Airport to catch the flight to Zanzibar for the six-night beach holiday. On arrival at Kisauni International Airport, you will be received and transferred to Bluebay Beach Resort. The Resort seats on the spectacular Kiwengwa Beach and has a beach frontage . Half Board,

 

Day 15 to 19

You have five full days at this tranquil haven enjoying the sun, sand and sea. You may undertake optional extra activities here including deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling among others.  Half Board.

Day 20

You will have the whole morning at leisure.  In good time, you will be picked up by our representative for the transfer to Kisauni International Airport, for the scheduled flight to Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi where you will connect to your departure flight (B)
